During these dark days, seven young women- Pampinea, Fiammetta, Filomena, Emilia, Lauretta, Neifile, and Elissa-run into each other at the church of Santa Maria Novella. In 1348, the Bubonic Plague ravages the city of Florence, turning society upside down.
